One of our favorite things about the holidays is cozying up in the kitchen and baking with friends and family… This time around, we’ve adopted a new technique for baking: taking our favorite traditional pies and baking in jars. It’s the perfect size to share with a friend, and the precious packaging would make an awesome gift.
Our technique? Pull out your usual pie recipe, whether it’s pumpkin, apple spice, or blueberry crumble, and prepare as such. Next up? Take little pieces of pie crust, and press them in til you’ve pressed all the way to the top. Add about a half cup of filling, and layer a piece of crust on top. Brush a little butter and sprinkle a bit of sugar on top, and your pies are ready for baking. We recommend baking at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 50 minutes, or until browned and bubbly. Enjoy!
