The Standard, New York and Quiksilver threw a party at The Standard, New York on September 25th to celebrate the installation of their second boardshort/bikini vending machine as part of The Standard Boardshorts by Quiksilver collaboration and in celebration of the NY Surf Film Festival. The vending machine, located poolside at The Standard, New York, offers a limited collection of original boardshorts resissued from the 70s and 80s, updated with modern fits and traveler-friendly technology and designs inspired by each of The Standard hotel properties (New York, Downtown LA, Hollywood and Miami). In addition to these one-of-a-kind boardshorts, the vending machines also offer a classic, black Quiksilver women’s bikini.
Legendary DJ Cerock kept party revelers going all night spinning underground dance classics and deep house, while splashes from the pool and the cracking of ice cold PBRs resonated throughout the party. Guests got a taste of the Quiksilver surf life as Clay Marzo: Just Add Water, a Quiksilver film was projected as a visual backdrop to the packed bar.
The first boardshort/bikini vending machine was unveiled on August 8th on the rooftop pool deck at The Standard, Downtown LA. The boardshorts and bikinis are available not only through the vending machines, but also online at shopthestandard.com, quiksilver.com and at The Standard boutiques.
