Raph Bruhwiler to the Rescue

As reported on sbcsurf.com, ‘Tofino locals Raph Bruhwiler and Adam Dewolfe were among a group of surfers who came to the rescue of three fishermen who capsized their boat near Port Renfrew a few days ago. 40 minutes without a wetsuit in 11 degree Celsius (52 degrees Fahrenheit) ocean water is definitely a life-threatening situation— from the way two of the fishermen stumbled up the beach, you can tell they were in serious trouble. There’s a news story about the rescue from CBC here, and a video clip from CHEK TV here. Good on all who went to the aid of those in need — I’d say everyone who helped out has accumulated a big stash of sea karma for the rest of the season.’
