Panesi Bro’s and Johnny Mel Take Over At Santa Cruz NSSA’s!!!!!!

The NSSA Double Header kicked off on the Eastside at Pleasure Point Saturday and then moved over to the Westside Sunday in the Northwest Open Season. In Juniors action, 12-year-old Brogie Panesi proved himself against his older rivals for the second time this season with another victory in the upper level age bracket.  Panesi, who also earned a big Juniors victory in the season opener at Pacifica, defeated older brother Kadin at Pleasure Point by a final score of 13.5 -11.5.  On Sunday Brogie nailed a 2nd in the Boys div. and 3rd in the Jrs. div. while battling overcrowded weekend traffic at Steamers.

Nine-year-old John Mel son of big wave legend and Santa Cruz icon Peter Mel continued his undefeated streak in the Mini Grom division.  He also stepped it up a notch at the Pleasure Point event taking third in the Open Boys final. Go Johnny!!
