Last night, 500+ people came out in droves to rally around Huntington Beach High School Senior and HBHS Surf Team Rider Mike Fisher. Mike has recently been diagnosed with Brain Cancer (Stage 3). AMAZING is an understatement in the support Mike has from the community. From ticket sales alone, they raised $10,000 last night towards his medical expenses. Which, unfortunately, his insurance will not pick up.
HSS’ Aaron Pai reached out to Quiksilver’s Greg Macias for support and to show Quiksilver’s CLAY MARZO: Just Add Water.
So with the HBHS’ packed Gymnasium, Rockin Fig got on the Mic and introduced TImmy Turner, who in turn, introduced Mike. Rounds of applause and Standing O’s for Mike were going for a solid 10 mins as he spoke and made light of his journey and the next step, his treatment in Texas in the next few months. His humble nature brought some to tears and other’s to scream “I Love You Mike”.
Mike then introduced CLAY MARZO’S: Just Add Water to a roaring crowd!
As the movie ended and the light’s went up, the crowd erupted! A raffle followed with hundreds of donations from Surfboards to Snowboards to Clothing.
Much thanks to Aaron Pai, HBHS Surf Team Andy Verdone, Quiksilver’s Greg Macias, Todd Kline and MoDaddy Sanford!
Most importantly, all our love to Mike Fisher!
