Quiky’s Huntington Beach local Derek Peters (15yrs) put up big scores with style and flair in the WSA Prime series event stop # 3 at Oceanside’s South Jetty. With a stacked field and fun 2-4ft lefts on tap D. Peters paced himself early on, grinding out heats all the way to the final. Snagging the win in the U16’s over 2nd pl. Ian Crane, 3rd Kolohe Andino and 4th Breyden Taylor I asked him about his day on the podium and D.P. said, “ I went into the final just going for it! I waited for the sets and kept pushin, put up a 7.5pts and 6.33pts and that did the job!” The win netted him 3000 valuable points that rockets D.P. from 7th place into the 2nd spot in the ratings.
