This past weekend the O’neill Evolution contest was held at Davos in Switzerland. Eric Willett was over there enjoying all the glorious snow that was falling. He rode pow all week and still ended up finishing 2nd. Impressive stuff. We got a hold of Eric and talked to him about the contest, this is what he had to say:
QS: How was the contest for you?
EW: It was fun! Didn’t really know how it was all going to go down with the conditions being so crazy, but it was fun and stoked I made it on the podium.
QS: What did you enjoy most?
EW: Contest aside, I have never ridden that much fun powder. The the terrain there is so different, just pillow lines and drops everywhere, so much fun!
QS: How was the course with all the snow?
EW: It was interesting, we had to do semis on the small jump. And for finals, the whole crew kicked it up a notch and worked their butts off to get the course good for us. It was a little tough, but being under the lights made it easier for everything.
QS: How was Davos the mountain?
EW: The mountain is really cool! Most of it is above tree line so you can ride anywhere, and then when you get in the trees you can find some insane lines.
QS: What was the most memorable event of the week there?
EW: Being on the podium with my friends. It’s always a good feeling to know you’re hard work paid off. And it’s always fun to spray the other guys with champagne!
