Alex Olson and Justin Brock both skated in the X Games Street contest today. So, Skate Team Manager Jamey Beeson and I headed down to the Staples Center to support the guys and check out the circus. After parking in the wrong lot, walking a few miles, and figuring out how to get our passes… we were in. We missed Brock’s first run while we were getting our credential’s, but we heard Dave Duncan over the mic and it sounded like it was a solid run. Brock skated really good, but just missed making the finals by 2 spots. Alex was trying to skate through a back injury, but it was tough. It was good to see both the guys in the contest, and even better to hang out for a bit. Click here for the full results from the contest.
Friday, Omar Hassan skates in the Skate park/bowl contest. If you’re not in Southern California and you can’t make it down to the Staples Center, watch it live on ESPN. You’ll get to hear Tony Hawk call all the action on the TV broadcast!
Here are a few pictures from the X Games Street contest today.

We were lost right from the start. We walked out of the parking garage and into some random trade show

Found it.

Justin Brock in between runs

Brock can pretty much Front Blunt anything

Follow it up with a Frontside Bigspin down the Double-Set

Tony Hawk is up there doing play-by-play for the TV broadcast

Tony was busy doing the TV thing, so he texted us a picture of him and Sal

After the contest, Brock signed autograph's and X Games Day 1 was done
