I bought tickets for my daughter for her 7th birthday. We drove over an hour from Kellogg, ID. To say the least I was not happy with the night but very proud of my daughter for standing up in a crowd for over four hours.
Who do you complain to? The convention center is not taking any responsibility. Neither is tickets west. I think we deserve a refund for the evening. Two tickets $80.00, gas $75.00 and a $30.00 t-shirt you can see through that she bought with her own money. I had to place Shea in a kids area because all she could see standing with me was adult butts. In the kids area she kept getting crushed against the railing, at one point she was pushed down and someone stepped on her. The usher, myself and some other parents were finally able to get the kids to sit down and stop pushing then the show started and the kids jumped up and it started all over again. Taller kids pushed their way in front of Shea and all she could see was the very top of the ramp on either side. She was excited by what she could see but was upset that she had a hard time. We waited after the show to get autographs because I promised her. She came away disappointed again because she was overlooked several times because she is little. We did not get a poster either.
So who can fix this? I know the Boom Boom Huck Jam can at least send me a refund for the very cheap t-shirt my daughter bought. You also need to remember there are very small fans in your audience who need a little more attention.
change of venue for the better? you must not know to much about shows and audience i flew in from Maui, Hawaii this show was a big dissapointment. other than seeing some great skaters it wasnt good at all it was not what was promoted it was not what the fans paid for! and you know this I have been throwing local music shows in the Spokane area for 7 years and each one of my shows blew that away! The acoustics sucked in the venue could not understand anything they were saying or understand the music so if you actually thought this was a good show please find the nearest wall and bang your head against it!! Not to mention no seating no handicap area I saw a kid leave because he was in a wheelchair and could not see and another on crutches but there were no seats so he had to leave. sad. Thanks for playing but we all lost. The thing is Tony Hawk is a great person to foundations and kids all over so I know it was out of his control but to say this was a good show you obviously were not there! These kids deserved what they paid for and I am an old school skater so I grew up watching Hawk, Ventura, Staab(my first board sims staab mini), hosoi. I just hope that it comes back next year to Spokane and give a show those fans deserve. I am not the only one that feels this way! Try a whole city.
