“Breaking the Rules of Summer: Always Root for the Home team”

Sure there are plenty of great American Surfers to root for, but Outside Magazine (and us) prefer to break the rules a bit this Summer and cheer on our favorite Aussie, Stephanie Gilmore. In the June issue of Outside Mag Steph talks about how she overcame some of her biggest challenges in the past few years and what the future has in store for her.

“This year, I’m fresh and feeling extremely competitive. I’m a new me.”

While we love the old Steph too, we are stoked to see what she has in store for us this Summer!

The summer is almost here and that means it’s time to plan your escapes and what to wear during the time away.

First stop on our summer escapes.. The Hamptons. Warm, sunny, chic and simple is what you want when stopping in for brunch or taking it to the poolside party.

Steph Gilmore tore it up at the Billabong Pro Rio De Janeiro on Thursday May 10, 2012. Even though the conditions were small and rough she picked the right sets came out on top with an amazing 16.70 out of 20.00! This score beat opponent Melanie Bartels, and advanced Steph into the third round. Way to go Steph!

Like all good things, Steph’s travel diary has also come to an end… but there is still more to come and we’ll be soon sharing with you a short documentary of our African adventure and much more!

For everyone involved in this mission this was a live changing trip and our experiences and souvenirs will accompany us forever. I hope you have felt the same. For us this is not the end of a trip, but the beginning of a new path with a refreshed new mind-set…

Hear head designer John Moore’s inspiration for our Spring 2012 collection.

This season we went on a map-less adventure, where quiet inspiration led to novel ideas. We rediscovered the natural beauty found in desert trails, succulent-filled gardens and calm paddles out to sea. We collected snapshots of rocky coasts at dawn, sunfaded skies and hillside hideaways. We took grassy afternoon naps, visited dusty old bookshops and cruised along deserted Baja roads. Long, Lazy days ended at poetic sunset vistas, leading to glorious ever-expanding dreams. Guess who we spotted wearing Quiksilver?  Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg!  While attending the Burton Snowboards Coachella Pool Party and BBQ at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs during the 2012 Coachella Music Festival, Michelle Trachtenberg was seen wearing the Quiksilver Tiki Tile Maxi. We love how she classically paired it with a denim jacket and some bold sunglasses.
