Starting humbly as a nameless project in a downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota apartment, We All Have Hooks for Hands soon developed into a full-fledged, gigging band doubling as a heap of chaos. The eight-piece outfit’s latest release is the Girls EP (Afternoon Records), full of boisterous songs catapulted forward by jangly power pop guitar fills, fuzzy keyboard riffs, soaring trumpets, two thunderous drumsets (!!), and – you guessed it – a chorus of girls on call-and-response vocal duties on the title track. Look for these Dakotans to break out of the Great Plains before long!
Girls is available for free download here, while “Hold On, C’mon” (from the band’s first album, The Pretender) was recently used in a Superpark Showdown video here.
