BIO

Surfer, Philanthropist

Australia

24 year old Stephanie, who was born and raised in New South Wales, Australia, has already become one of the most accomplished surfers in the world. She won four consecutive ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) Women's World Titles and still remains the only surfer to take the title in her rookie year. Stephanie also holds a Laureus Award, possibly the most prestigious award in the sport worldwide. She plays both acoustic and electric guitar, including her vintage Fender Strat. Also an ambassador for Nikon, she is an avid photographer and documents her world travels. Stephanie's philanthropic work includes Australia's youth-focused Black Dog Foundation, through which she sponsors two children in Kenya and Ethiopia, and the Couer de Foret project, in which she helps build sustainable villages in the Casamance region of Senegal.

What/who inspires you?

The dreamers, the creators, the lovers and the haters...I've learned to draw some inspiration from everybody, no matter what their story.

What you are currently working on?

I'm currently working on progressing my surfing career. I want my 2012 campaign on the ASP world tour to better than my previous years. My other big goals currently are to show the world the 'Water Dancer' project and continue to brainstorm new ideas to push it forward.

If you could have one wish what would it be and why?

Being able to teleport would be fantastic! No more airport time, which may be the worst part of my job.

Favorite Past Time

Watching films, lots of films, and playing musical instruments.

If you weren't doing what you were doing now, what would you be doing?

I'm not so sure. Whatever it is would have to involve traveling the world because that is how we learn and I believe it places you in the best position for opportunity. Or...something involving music.
